NHS Parents and Guardians,
I hope everyone is enjoying the weekend!
Our first annual Open House was a success, and the faculty at Newtown High School was eager to share details of the academic programs and electives we offer all students. During an introduction to the night, my comments focused on the importance of student attendance and student involvement in clubs, activities, or athletics. Involvement in school helps students develop and maintain meaningful connections to their peers and the staff. In many ways, this supports a positive environment for learning and personal growth.
Many parents approached me throughout the evening to offer their support. As I mentioned early on, the partnership between family and school is integral to student success. We hope you continue to stay involved in the educational lives of your high school students.
Our 2nd Open House is scheduled for Wednesday, September 17th, 2014. We are looking forward to seeing you there!
