Good Evening Parents and Guardians,
It was a pleasure to meet with you at our Annual Open House. In talking with many parents throughout the evening, it was clearly evident that Newtown students are extremely lucky. You are genuinely invested in the quality of education your sons and daughters receive as high school students. This is impressive, especially since the close partnership between school and home is integral to the success of all learners. As we emphasized during the early portion of our program, attendance at school is critical. Students need to attend school not only to succeed academically but to explore their interests and make meaningful connections with peers and faculty. In addition, please encourage your children to get involved by joining a club, a sport, or an extra-curricular activity. It is important that all students find their “niche,” discover their passion, and set long-term goals for themselves throughout their high school career.
As Principal, I am proud to be a part of the Newtown community. Please do not hesitate to contact me should you have a question or a concern. This communication is essential to the ongoing well-being of our students.
Again, we thank you for a positive evening and look forward to working with you this year!
Dr. Lorrie Rodrigue
Principal, Newtown High School
